Specimen 01 — Reference model

Skiff Inflatable Roof Top Tent

The Skiff is the reference model of the Play.do! inflatable range: a 2–3 person roof top tent that replaces poles and rigid shells with inflatable pull-wire air beams, so the whole tent pitches from a pump and packs into a 75 × 50 × 30 cm bag. At 18 kg net it is a one-person lift onto a roof rack, and it starts the driving sum 51 kg below the documented fiberglass shell on the same tent-only basis; what remains of a vehicle's dynamic rating is settled by the full sum — this tent plus your rack and any roof accessories — checked against the rating of the specific vehicle. If you are evaluating one model to understand the range, start here — the Castle, Wing and Starry Sky 2 all build on this footprint.

How it is built

The structure is a set of inflatable pull-wire air beams rather than a pole frame. Inflated to the 6–7 PSI working range, the beams hold the tent's shape; deflated, the same beams let the tent fold flat into its storage bag instead of staying a rigid box on the roof. The sleeping base is a 25 cm drop-stitch air mattress — the same construction used in inflatable paddle boards — sized 220 × 145 cm, which gives two adults full-length room with space for a child or gear between and beside them. The tent body is 300D Oxford fabric with a black coating, and the zippers are SBS throughout.

Because there is no shell, the packed tent weighs 26 kg as a full package and the tent itself 18 kg net. That matters twice: once when you mount it, and again every time the vehicle carries it, because a lighter tent leaves more margin in both load checks — the driving sum against the dynamic rating, and the parked sum, tent plus sleepers, against the static rating. Buyers comparing against the fiberglass hard shell in the same catalogue should note the contrast — that model is listed at 69 kg net. The lightest roof top tents guide puts the published weights side by side.

What is in the box

The listed package contents are: the tent with dust cover ×1, a telescopic ladder ×1, four 6 m straps, a hand pump ×1, an outer storage bag ×1, a shoe bag ×1 and a repair kit ×1. The rechargeable 20 PSI electric air pump is listed separately and is the faster way to reach working pressure; confirm whether your order configuration includes it when you enquire.

Ordering notes

On the company's B2B listings the Skiff is offered with a minimum order quantity of 20 pieces. Before you pay, confirm the current specification, the MOQ that applies to your order and the lead time in writing — and confirm which pump, if any, is included. For smaller trial quantities, ask which inflatable models are listed at a one-piece minimum; the Shell Wing is one of them. Distributors and retailers can also discuss buyer-label production via the OEM page.

How long is the Skiff when it is packed?
The folded tent measures 75 × 50 × 30 cm and the shipping package 76 × 50 × 32 cm, at 28 kg gross — small enough to store off the vehicle between trips.
Does it need a special roof rack?
It mounts with the four included 6 m straps and is carried on a standard roof rack or cross bars. Run the two load checks: tent plus rack against the vehicle's dynamic rating for driving, and tent plus occupants against the static rating when parked — the method is in our roof load capacity guide.
Can the Skiff be used off the vehicle?
The inflatable models in this range are also pitched on the ground; the Skiff's own listed use is as a roof top tent, so confirm ground use for your order if that is a requirement.
